Is pre-k necessary

AMBER ALERT An amber alert has been issued. Click here to visit the Amber Alert site. On My Way Pre-K On My Way Pre-K awards grants to 4 year olds from low-income families so that they may have access to a high-quality pre-K is pre-k necessary the year before they begin kindergarten.

Families who receive a grant may use the grant at any approved On My Way Pre-K program. March 1, 2018: On My Way Pre-K applications are now available for grants to eligible children who will be 4 years old, but not yet 5 years old on August 1, 2018, and will be attending kindergarten in the 2019-20 school year. These grants will be good for pre-K programs starting in August 2018. Grants will be awarded until all available slots have been filled – families are encouraged to apply early! Child must be 4 but not yet 5 years old by August 1, 2018.

Child must be a resident of Indiana. FPL information is available by clicking here. 127 percent must be enrolled first before families at higher income levels will be considered. The same Marion county application can be used for both On My Way Pre-K and IndyPSP grants. If you prefer, you may complete a paper application. It is not necessary to complete both an online application and a paper application. Paper applications must be mailed, faxed or scanned and emailed to your local intake agent.

Eligible families will be notified by contact information listed on their application to set up an appointment with their local intake beginning in April 2018. At this appointment, families will verify eligibility and complete the grant process including choosing an approved On My Way Pre-K program for their child to attend beginning in August 2018. Children four years of age by September 1st of the current school year, who are Georgia residents, are eligible to attend. Enrollment in the Georgia Pre-K program is entirely voluntary and there are no income eligibility requirements. Due to the popularity of the program, space is limited and provided on a first come, first serve basis. Classrooms typically fill up prior to the start of the school year, so it is important to register early.
