I lived on 228th St and 138th Ave-a block away from 156. Laurelton now seems like a very protected place where growing up was relatively calm and totally safe. I’ve lived in Brookline, MA for the last 32 years and brought up two daughters while teaching and consulting. In some ways Brookline is very similar to Laurelton with a strong community and close relations with neighbors. Hi, anyone who might be looking for me. I have very fond memories of growing up in Laurelton. The “hot spots” like Raabs, and Zickermans and Sharry’s played a big part of my childhood.
Life’s road has been rather interesting. I married and lived in Youngstown, Ohio, then moved to Toronto, Canada for nine years. I am now in Coral Springs, Florida and have been for 30 years. I run into Laureltonians and it is a blast to remember.
We moved to NJ in 1963. Currently living in Chevy Chase, MD. Laurelton never leaves us even on a boat on the Yangzee River. The couple looked so familiar and it turned out to be a friend of my sister, Judy. Now I find out that Laurelton has moved to Florida.
I have photos of old friends in H. 132 in 1955, then moved away. I am in the process of writing a book about my life. I would like to be in touch with the friends that I grew up with. I was fortunate to have them part of my life. Went into the Army in 1960, and never really went back to Laurelton. Married to my wife for the last 42 years, have two girls, and three grand children.
